2nd NEFRA Working Test – Crathorne

NEFRA held its 2nd working test on 9th August 1997 for Puppy, Novice and Open dogs.

Puppy & Open Tests in the morning, puppy being judged by David Bellamy and Jackie Winder, Open being judged by Philip Wagland and David Showell
Novice judged in the afternoon by all four judges

A superb BBQ lunch was served by Bob Kitching and his helpers.

Trophies, award cards and rosettes were presented by Lady Crathorne

Fun Day 27th July 1997

This fun day was held at Bob and Sandra Kitching’s home: Sandhills Farm, Crathorne, Yarm

A photographic competition was held with eight diff634ererent classes judged by Lady Crathorne and Joan Rudkin awarding the first prize to Kathryn Trevor whose entry featured on the NEFRA Christmas cards, with a Clowbeck dog being featured on the NEFRA notelets.

A ringcraft class held by Val Orme

A scurry held by Liz Geoghegan & Den Orme

Retrieving a Bonio & Sausage held by Gary Whiting

Bob Kitching provided BBQ catering

An Agility demonstration was provided by the Quaker Agility Team – followed by the opportunity to have a go

A show ‘match’ was judged by Elaine Whiting awarding Best in Match to Mr & Mrs Slack’s Wizardwood Orlando

The Association held its second open show on 4th May 1997 at Woodford Community Centre, Stockport. (Original Report In Wagging Tails)

SPONSORS Spillers Pet Foods – who held a stand at the event where everyone could check the weight of their dogs and take advice on feeding.

Best In Show was awarded to Helen Hughes’ Heronsflight Haste
Reserve Best In Show went to Mr & Mrs B Jones’ Shargleam Legend at Benvellyn
Best Puppy went to Mrs S A and Miss S J Moult’s Capeldewi Merman
Best Veteran in Show went to Bob Allen’s Ebony Gleam of Darillens

All these winners were presented engraved glass rose bowls by the association.

Our thanks go to everyone for making this an enjoyable and successful day but in particular our judges and our stewards (who were Mrs Hazel Wilson and Miss Becky Johnson).
