NEFRA is delighted to support the recently announced research project investigating renal dysplasia in flatcoated retrievers.

Renal dysplasia is a serious inherited kidney condition that can have a devastating impact on affected dogs and their families. This new research represents an exciting step forward in improving our understanding of the disease and, ultimately, helping to protect the future health of our breed.

The Northern England Flatcoated Retriever Association is committed to supporting initiatives that advance breed health, and we are pleased to be working alongside those involved in this important study. We hope that, through research, greater knowledge can be gained about the causes of renal dysplasia and how its occurrence may be reduced in future generations of flatcoated retrievers.

To help contribute towards the costs of this valuable work, NEFRA will shortly be announcing a number of fundraising activities and events. We hope members and friends of the breed will join us in supporting this important cause.

This is an exciting development in flatcoated retriever health research, and we look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
